MYXPH.COM joins the whole nation in commemorating All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day. As we remember our faithfully departed loved ones, we continue our series of interviews with local artists as they narrate tales about those who have passed on.
Veteran singer Ding Dong Avanzado shares to us his story which happened two decades ago. He says he survived a car crash which took the life of their household help. A day after the accident, something weird happened which until this day baffles the singer, and until this day he considers to be his scariest moment.
This is Ding Dong's "Kwentong Kandila":
"A day after (the accident), siyempre nag-ppray yung family. As we were praying, we noticed yung kandila; 'yung apoy humihiwalay dun sa wick! Nagulat kami... After a while, nakita namin pataas nang pataas yung distansya nung flame, haggang sa naghinto na kami; syempre kasi ang taas na eh. Nung naka-hinto na kami siguro for a few seconds, we all stopped!... Nawala yung apoy. Nawala yung flame. Sigawan kami lahat! It was so scary, talagang hair-raising. No one can explain it to us, what's the scientific explanation for that episode to happen."
