The collapse of a temporary scaffolding resulted in the death of a spectator and the injury of 19 others right before a Linkin Park concert in Cape Town, South Africa.
The unidentified fan was caught under an advertisement banner after a gust of wind caused it to collapse. A city spokesperson said that the victim was female and died after being hospitalized. Twelve of those injured also required hospital care.
The band immediately expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased and to those who have been injured on their official website:
The concert pushed through amidst the incident. The band learned about the fan's death only after they performed.
Should Linkin Park be liable for the unfortunate death of their fan? Or is it the organizers' fault? Feel free to leave a comment below.
