Despite Justin Bieber's dominance and an unforgettable performance from Psy and MC Hammer, the 2012 American Music Awards recorded its lowest TV ratings ever.
The show's ceremony and performance was watched by an average of 9.5 million viewers down from 12 million last year.
The AMAs was up against big competition this year from football but ABC, which broadcasted the show live, said that the telecast was the top TV show of the night with women and teens.
Big stars Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce and Adele were among those who didn't make it to AMA's 40th anniversary celebration.
