In Barbra Streisand's career, she has only performed at the Oscars once.
Next month, she will grace the Oscar stage for the first time in decades as confirmed by the producers.
The 70-year old Streisand has won two Oscars, one for Best Actress in "Funny Girl," and another for Best Original Song for "Evergreen."
"Evergreen" was the song she performed during her first and only appearance at the Academy Awards.
According to Craig Zadan and Neil Meron in a statement, "In an evening that celebrates the artistry of movies and music, how could the telecast be complete without Barbra Streisand? We are honored that she has agreed to do a very special performance on this year's Oscars."
Earlier this month, the Film Society of Lincoln Center said that Streisand will be receiving its annual Chaplin Award, a prestigious honor recognizing achievement in film.
The Oscars will be held on February 24 at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre.
