Here's a brief history of how the Favorite K-Pop Video category came about.
At the MYX Music Awards 2010, two of the five Favorite International Video nominees were from South Korean girl groups. They were "Nobody" by The Wonder Girls and "Fire" by 2NE1.
They were pitted against world pop heavyweights Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift (who eventually won the award).
That was just about the time when K-Pop invasion began worldwide.
A year later, the Favorite K-Pop Video category was created due to the immense popularity of pop music from South Korea.
At the 2011 MYX Music Awards, Dara and the rest of 2NE1 bagged the award beating Beast, U-KISS, Girls' Generation and Super Junior.
2012 was Super Junior's turn to win against fellow nominees Kim Hyun Joong, 2NE1, Girls' Generation and Big Bang.
This year, these questions are bound to be answered:
Will Girls' Generation TaeTiSeo win the award for their main group?
Will "Monster" by Big Bang finally win the group's first MYX Music Award?
Will it be trophy #2 for 2NE1 or Super Junior?
Or will PSY prove that it is indeed the year of the "Gangnam Style"?
It is actually all up to you!
