The top-selling Red Horse Beer, also touted in the circle of beer drinkers as the brand for the
brave-hearted, wittingly installed two ôRed Horse power metersö on both sides of the main stage
to measure the extent of noise made by rock legends Pepe ôJoeyö Smith, Ely Buendia, Slapshock
and the rest of the performers in the final staging of the 2012 Red Horse Beer Pambansang
Muziklaban Grand Finals last Feb. 2, 2013.
The same stage, where the rock gods of the Philippines reigned supreme that night, also served
as the platform to fame of the band ôA Music Theoryö, one of the five finalists to the most
prestigious search for amateur rock bands in the country. Representing Greater Manila Area,
the 2012 Red Horse Beer Pambansang Muziklaban grand champion brought home half-a-million
pesos, an exclusive recording contract with Red Horse Beer and MCA Universal Music, plus
exciting prizes from co-presenter Dickies.
Cholo Pabalan, JC Santos, Lorce Manaois and John Jo Presingular, who formed the band ôA
Music Theoryö in their college days at Dela Salle University-Manila, outstaged the other finalists
namely Katulad (Northern Luzon), Fidortchi (Southern Luzon), Disengage (Visayas), and
ôAstig!ö was their shout to victory when their band was awarded on stage by Red Horse Beer
brand representatives and welcomed by celebrity hosts Phoemela Baranda and Francis Brew and
Red Horse Beer brand ambassador Ely Buendia.
Every year, there is something new to rave for in Red Horse BeerÆs signature event. Not only
does the organizer offer something new in every Muziklaban, like the Red Horse power meter,
which measures the decibel level of the music as well as the cheers of the crowd, there was also
the 900cc Red Horse Beer Custom motorbike that was given for the first time to one lucky raffle
Walther Calderon, a resident of Taguig City, was picked out from among the 18,000 plus
guests in the recent Muziklaban Finals as the new owner of the Red Horse Custom motorbike
designed exclusively for this event by the Hardcore Brothers. The bikeÆs worth, according to the
organizer, is approximately P1 million.
To celebrate the 14th year of Muziklaban, Red Horse Beer also raffled off P14,000 cash prizes to
14 winners and 196 cases of Red Horse Beer 330mL.
Apart from the sights and sounds on the main stage, Muziklaban fans enjoyed the exhibit of
Hollywood-famous tattoo artist Chris Garcia inside the Pinoy Ink Tent, the breathtaking stunts
of BMX and skateboard riders on the Extreme Sports Zone, and in the Horsepoewer Zone, the
audition performances of aspiring Muziklaban bands for next yearÆs rock challenge.
Now on its 14th year, the Pambansang Muziklaban gathers music aficionados, tattoo artists and
extreme sports athletes. It is the gathering of Red Horse BeerÆs hottest rock bands in the country
to bring an event with an extra strong kick and hard hitting action na may ôsipa ng horsepowerö.
