RICHARD POON Says Goodbye To Big Band; Returns To Pop In "Legends"

After years of performing Big Band tunes, singer Richard Poon returns to pop with the release of his newest album "Legends", his first project with new label Universal Records.

"Not a lot of people know that I started in the music industry singing pop songs," says Richard Poon. "I perfectly believe that now is the perfect time to go back to my roots - pop."

He adds that making this decision was not that easy, but believes that this project will further improve him as a singer, performer.

Richard welcomes the challenge with open arms, and he hopes that people will continue supporting him and his music.

In "Legends", Richard traces his pop roots by singing timeless tunes from international artists such as Madonna, Whitney Houston, Barbra Streisand and Barry Manilow. The album also features a collaboration with Christian Bautista for the Michael Jackson - Paul McCartney duet "The Girl Is Mine".

The first single is Richard's rendition of the Lionel Richie classic "Truly". The singer's real-life sweetheart Maricar Reyes is featured in the music video.
