Liver failure took away the life of one of Slayer's founding members. Jeff Hanneman founded Slayer alongside guitarist Kerry King back in the 1980s. The band was well known to be part of the "big four" thrash metal groups, with Anthrax, Megadeth and Metallica.
Two years after coming to know of his rare skin tissue disease, most likely contracted from a spider bite, guitarist and songwriter Jeff Hanneman passed away this week at a hospital nearby his home in Southern California.
The band announced their devastation for the late bandmate and brother. Fans and colleagues continue to share their sorrow on Twitter.
