Devin Copeland and Mareio Overton think that they have heard that tune before! These two songwriters form Virginia are suing Justin Bieber and Usher for the song "Somebody to Love."
Conflict arises as the two claim that copyright infringement has been committed. They state that the song had many lyrical and stylistic similarities to their copyrighted same titled song, which they wrote way back in 2008.
Specifically speaking, the two filed the lawsuit in Norfolk saying that several songwriters, as well as producers, had conspired against them and imitated their song.
According to Copeland, the duo had given a copy of their song to Usher's manager. They were informed that Usher was interested to re record but never heard again of the news or progress after that.
A jury trial has been put to order all for the hit song "Somebody to Love," which was a certified platinum. Read more about the issue here.
