Charice has finally put an end to all the speculations and talk about her sexuality.
"Opo, tomboy po ako," answered the singer when asked if she was indeed a lesbian, in a face to face chat with "The Buzz" host Boy Abunda.
She apologized to those hurt by her revelation including her Mom, brother and her fans.
"Gusto ko po humingi ng patawad sa mga hindi po naka-intindi, sa mga hindi po makaka-unawa, sa mga hindi po ako matatanggap. Sorry po. Naiintindihan ko po kayo."
She said she had the option of granting an interview somewhere else, probably with the likes of Ellen DeGeneres or Oprah Winfrey (who both helped her succeed internationally through their respective talk shows), but opted to do it in here in The Philippines.
"Pinili ko po dito dahil malaki po utang na loob ko sa Filipinos, dahil gusto ko pong sila yung maka-alam kung ano man po ako, kung sino man po ako."
The former "Glee" star admitted she felt proud and free now that she has announced her true feelings.
"Proud ako sa sarili ko. Mahal ko ang sarili ko kaya ko po ginagawa 'to."
She also revealed that she has had relationships with other girls in the past and is currently "inspired" by Alyssa Quijano of the female group AKA Jam, who was among the "X Factor Philippines" finalists.
Charice said she has known Alyssa back when they were both still kids joining singing contests, even before they both became part of the TV talent show.
Speculations about the "Pyramid" singer's sexual preference have swirled around when news of her eloping with Alyssa hugged the headlines.
Photos of her new, masculine makeover were also popular online memes.
A newspaper article written by her godfather Bum Tenorio revealed details of her 21st birthday last May 10 and described it as a "coming out of sorts" for the pop star.
