Korean-American singer Keyrei
is in town for a couple of performances here in town!
Keyrei started in 2009 when she released her debut album "Therapy," which was inspired by her late father who was then battling cancer. Through this experience, she was able to write several original songs that were able to hit the No. 1 spot of the charts.
After a few years, she met Shemika Secrest, who used to work for singer Macy Gray. Secrest met her through a friend and took the time to listen to Keyrei's samples and was immediately amazed by her talent. From there, the two started to write and produce music together and it has brought them here in the Philippines!
With her electro-organic pop soul tune, Keyrei serenaded the Filipinos with her gigs here in Manila and last Wednesday night, MYXPH.com got to witness Keyrei's performance in Makati and we also had the chance to sit down with her for a little chat!
Keyrei, who's in the Philippines for the second time, said she feels that this is already her second home. "I just feel so comfortable with the people here and the music scene here. It's so warm and inviting," the singer said.
She also expressed her delight over the appreciation of Filipinos when it comes to music. "Our hearts are really connected with organic music. We just love the fact that musicians are so appreciated in this country. Everyone was so warm and welcoming to us," she added.
She also sent a message showing her love to all her supporters here in the Philippines! Click the video below and watch our interview with Keyrei!
