People are talking about whether or not singer-songwriter-producer Pharrell Williams has some Filipino blood.

According to, Pharrell's mom, reportedly named Carolyn Masibay-Williams, is a full-blooded Filipina, and is a former beauty queen who represented the Philippines in the Miss Asia Pacific Pageant in 1971.

In an article posted by where Pharrell talked about his parents, Pharrell shared that his mother Carolyn is a teacher and said, "My mom thought her sons could do no wrong. She lived for us. There was plenty of discipline, but we knew we were loved."

The 40-year-old musician has yet to confirm this issue and the question still remains as to whether or not Pharrell is a half-Filipino. But as we continue to look for answers, we can first watch his music video for his feel-good song "Happy"! Click the video below:

    It's definitely embarasing when people like this author post false information about someone's mother. I understand you're probably all about Filipino pride and what not but you should be embarrassed because his mom is not Filipino and not the same lady Here's proof.

    That explains why he's still youthful looking at 40 because others tend to think that Filipinos and Asians age slowly :-)

    Makes sense! Chad Hugo, his Neptunes production partner/N.E.R.D. bandmate is Filipino.
