Basketball fever is once again at an all-time high dahil sa papalapit nang NBA Finals!

Sa aming sariling on-going hard court league na MYX 3on3, natanong namin ang mga musicians kung aling teams ang mga trip nila sa National Basketball Association.

Mong Alcaraz of the Yellow Team shares his thoughts on the current NBA Playoffs.

"Ang bet ko sa West, Memphis, kasi initially 'nung regular season, seemingly sinadya ng San Antonio iwasan ang Memphis kasi sinilat na sila dati nito sa first round, eh," sabi niya.

Dagdag pa ng gitarista, pinagod na daw ng Golden State Warriors ang Spurs, na nakaharap nila sa West Semis.

So tanchado na daw niya ang makakatapat ng paborito niyang Miami Heat sa dulo.

"Ang fearless forecast ko na (maghaharap sa) Finals ay Miami and Memphis."

Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals happens tomorrow.

APL.DE.AP Honored For His Charity Work

Apl.de.Ap has been an advocate for education. Born and raised in his hometown of Angeles, Pampanga, the rapper/producer knows what it's like to fight for the right to learn.

As a kid, he took hour-long trips to school, funded in part by the Pearl S. Buck foundation through sponsor Ben Hudgens, who would eventually adopt him and take him to the United States at the age of 14.

Through the Apl.de.Ap Foundation, he was able to fund the construction of a computer lab, a library and a music room for the students of Sapang Bato elementary school in Angeles, Pampanga, the same school he attended as a kid.

And it's about time that he is recognized for giving back to his fellow-Pinoys!

The artist and one-fourth of the Grammy-Award winning group the Black Eyed Peas, was recently honored by the U.S.-based "This Time Foundation". The entertainer, whose real name is Allan Pineda was given an award and will be receiving help to aid more unfortunate children all over Asia.

"It feels great. I feel blessed and feel very supported and embraced by my fellow Filipinos and everybody in the room," said Apl after receiving the award.

Other Fil-Am celebrities expressed their support.

"He is harnessing his star power to present vast resources to educate the children in the Philippines," said actress Tia Carrere.

Actor Lou Diamond Phillips said he was present at the gala "to see what he's doing and how incredibly noble it is. He didn't just sing the song 'Where Is The Love?', he's making it happen!"

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS Take Flight With LINKIN PARK Vocalist

With the recent termination of Scott Weiland, rock band Stone Temple Pilots have recruited Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington for a new single and a surprise performance.

The single, entitled "Out Of Time" premiered shortly after the alternative band played a 40-minute set with Bennington during an event by California-based radio station KROQ.

"Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we've admired for a long time," said guitarist Dean DeLeo.

As for what the future holds for this L.P. and S.T.P. collaboration, we would just have to wait for further developments.

"We know Linkin Park will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together. We managed to find the time to record a song and we're all really happy with the result," added DeLeo.

"When the opportunity came up to do something creative with them, I jumped at the chance," said Bennington.

"The guys in Linkin Park have been incredibly supportive of me undertaking this project while I've continued to work on new music with LP," added the rock singer.

Stone Temple Pilots announced Scott Weiland's termination in a one-line press release three months ago.

The band rose to fame in the early 90s with hits like "Plush" and "Interstate Love Song".

They broke up in 2002 but reunited after six years, recorded a self-titled album and embarked on a world tour.

S.T.P. got to perform at the Big Dome for their Manila fans two years ago. Linkin Park is set to return to the country on August 13.

Kinse: sessiOnroad rocks at 15!

Alternative rock band Sessionroad (stylised as sessiOnroad), known for their chart topping hits "Cool Off", "Leaving You" and "Eager Angels", celebrated their 15th Anniversary at 70's Bistro last Friday May 18, 2013.

The jampacked 70's Bistro sang their hearts out to the band's perfomance especially to their most successful single "Suntok Sa Buwan" which gained them a lot of recognition from the listening public.

Actress/comedienne and wife of guitarist Coy Placido, Tuesday Vargas also jammed along as she sang No Doubt's "Underneath It All" and even cracked a few jokes to entertain the crowd.

The band was formed in 1998. It is currently composed of members Hannah Romawac-Olives (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Coy Placido (lead guitar, synth), Chavi Romawac (drums), JV Romawac (percussions, back-up vocals) and Jimbo San Pedro (bass). The band showcases a fusion of genres - pop, rock, and reggae.

Past members were Jonathan Placido (1998-1999), Jesse Hoover (1998-2002), Glen Laciste (1999-2000), Sugarfree's Jal Taguibao (2000) and Richard Carandang (2000-2007).

THE DOORS Keyboardist Rey Manzarek Breaks On Through The Other Side

After a lengthy duel with "the big C", The Doors keyboardist Rey Manzarek died today at the age of 74.

He was with his wife and brothers at a medical facility in Rosenheim, Germany where he sought treatment for bile duct cancer.

In a statement, The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger expressed his grief upon hearing about his friend and bandmate's death.

"I'm just glad to have been able to have played Doors songs with him for the last decade. Ray was a huge part of my life and I will always miss him," said Krieger.

Singer Jim Morrison and Manzarek formed The Doors in Los Angeles, California in 1965. Manzarek's work on his synthesizera and electric organ was an essential part of the band's signature sound.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees have sold more than 100 million albums and are behind the classic rock hits "People Are Strange", "Break On Through (To The Other Side)" and "Light My Fire".

Morrison died from heart failure in 1971 which forced the band to break up two years later. He's a member of the "27 Club", a list of famous rock stars who passed on at the age of 27.

Manzarek authored two novels including his memoir entitled "Light My Fire: My Life with The Doors."

Kahit na celebrity crush nila sina Katherine Bernardo, Sam Pinto, Kristine Reyes, Coleen Garcia at Julia Barretto, huwag kayong magalala mga Chicseriffics! Single na single naman sila!

Sabi ni Biboy, "yung "Hello I Love You".yung kwento niya.gusto naming ipaalam sa lahat na mahal namin sila." Dedicated nga daw ito sa mga Chicseriffics na talaga ngang espesyal sa mga puso nila.

Kaya pila-pila na! Baka kayo na ang magpapatibok ng mag puso nila! Tinanong namin sila kung pano sila manligaw. Madaming klaseng sagot ang lumabas pero iisa lamang ang punto: "ipapakita ko sa kanya na sincere ako.ibibigay ko lahat ng kaya kong ibigay, hindi sa pamamagitan ng pera pero tunay na pagmamahal."

6 Artists for the 12 Stone Inc Music Festival

Get ready this June! Another music festival is coming your way!

Independent Filipino record label and talent management, 12 Stone Incorporated brings you the 12 Stone Music Festival. With artists like the multi-awarded vocalist Kitchie Nadal and Barbie Almalbis, the alternative rock band Rocksteddy, the young indie Absolute Play, the rock punk band Save Me Hollywood and the up and coming singer-songwriter Ruth Legaspi, the event will be a sight and sound for local music lovers.

The label will start it off with an album launch featuring all 12 Stone in-house talents on June 1st at the Eastwood Central Plaza. It will then be followed by the 12 Stone Music Tour from June to October. Catch it first of June 7 at The Lucky Chinatown in Manila at 4pm, and second at the Venice Piazza McKinley Hill on June 9 at 7 in the evening. Expect the tour to visit from campus to campus residing in Metro Manila, as well as other relevant cities.

KJWAN Guitarist BOOGIE ROMERO Releases Solo Album

Boogie Romero, known for his guitar work for Kjwan and the defunct band Dicta License, has just released a solo album called "The Room".

The 11-track independent project highlights a different side of Boogie, one that shows an acoustic folk rock vibe as opposed to the electric riffs that we are used to hearing from him.

"Kasi siyempre hindi lahat ng ideas ko nagagamit sa Kjwan, mayroong masyadong light. So I decided to put some of those ideas into another medium. And siyempre hindi ako laging rock pala, nung bata ako laging rock ako e. 'Yun pala may acoustic side din ako," explained Romero.

"Indie na indie 'to. Wala akong tulong. I did it all by myself. I wrote it all, I recorded it all, mixed it all!"

And he did the whole DIY process of making the album inside his room, hence the title.
